MARRIAGES Bainton, Yorks, On Saturday, Mr. John Granville Nash only son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Nash, of King Coel's Kitchen, Lexden, with Miss Winifred Elgey, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs James Elgey, of Neswick, Bainton. The bridgroom is on the staff of the Ministry of Agriculture at Bakewell, Derbyshire. both Bride and Groom are tennis and Badmington players. Miss Elgey being well known in Tennis Championships Yorkshire. the bride was in white satin, with a silver girdle and a halo of silver and orange blossom. She carried lillies and orange blossom. Her bridmaids were Misses Betty and Joan Elgey (sisters) Freda Byass(cousin), and Marie Smith with younger attendants, Ann Elget (sister> and Andrew Smith. The bridsmaids wore green taffeta spigged with pink and yellow rosebuds, and crinoline skirts and halos of shaded velvet and leaves, and carried pink and yellow roses. The page was in Highland dress. After the reception Mr.and Mrs Nash left for a holiday in the lake District. |
