Married in Africa, Elgey Towse; A marriage took place at St. Luke's Church Ketalie Africa of Miss Betty Towes, only child of Mr and Mrs G.A Towes of West End Nafferton and Mr. James angus Elgey younger son of Mr and Mrs Elgey Beswick near Bainton. Both families are well known and hightly respected in the district. The bride was late secretary Nafferton Young Conservatives a very fine horsewoman, fond of riding and popular with a large number of young people in the villlage the bride was given away by Mr H. Crompton cousin of the Bridgroom, The bride attired in white morocain with head dress of real carnations and tullie and carried a bouquet of white and pink carnations the bridemaids were Misses Sheila and Heather Crompton who wore dresses of pink organdie with headdresses and carried pink carnations. They also recieved gold pencils , gifts of the bridgegroom. The Best man was mr henry Muddle and the groomsmen were Mr John Bradford brother inlaw of the bridgroom and mr Hugh Sarre. Mr and Mrs Elgey have taken up farming and will reside at New Lodes. P.O. Hoeys Bridge Kenya East Africa. |
