Neswick Hall is mentioned in the Doomsday Book
The Neswick estate was held by the Salvin family of Kilham and Nafferton for two hundred years until it was sold to Thomas Anlaby of Etton in 1613 .
It descended in the Anlaby family until the death c. 1710 of Matthew Anlaby of Lebberston (North Riding) when the estate was divided between his five daughters.

Blackened Strip about 100 yards wide rep damage caused by fire which broke out in a Barley Field of the farm of Mr. J. Elgey Neswick Farm Bainton today. The outbreak was spotted by two railway workers who led the assault on the fire with Beater which a kept handy on the lineside
