Death of Mr. C. W. Boast Former Longton Trader.
We reget to announce the death of Mr. Charles wilson Boast, of Brookside, Ludwell Road, Normancote, who for many years carried on business as an Ironmonger in Longton,
Mr Boast who was 74 of age had been in ill health for some months.
His passing has caused deep regret among his many friends in the district. Mr Boast commenced in business as an Ironmonger in High Street Longton more than 40 years ago, and retired about four years ago, He was well known and highly esteemed in the district.
Mr Boast leaves a widow and one son Mr. Eric Boast to whom sympathy has been extended

Mrs Eva Kathleen Boast wife of Mr. C. E. Boast of Croham Valley Road, South Croydon, a former borough Engineer of Croydon, died on Wednesday, aged 66.
Mrs Boast was for many years an active member of the Inner Wheel untill she had an attack of Corony Thrombosis about two years ago.
Mr. and Mrs Boast, who came to Croydon in 1929, celebrated their 40th weding anniversary in July. Mrs Boast was the daughter of a country Clergyman st Scampston, East Yorkshire and attended the well known girls school of St. Margaret's at Bushey Herts.
The Funeral will take place on Monday at St.Peter's Church, South Croydon, at 11 a.m.

In 1935 he was promoted to the combined post of Borough Engineer, Surveyor,and Water Engineer, where his responsibilities included sewage disposal, waterworks, roads, parks, housing, refuse collection and destruction, and town planning. 1943.
His foresight did much, Mr Boast was awarded the O.B.E. in initially to produce the Croydon Development Plan, which was eventually accepted by the Borough and the Government, and is now being put into effect.
He retired as Croydon Borough Engineer in 1953, and took up work as a consultant. In response to a request by...

CHARLES ERIC BOAST, O.B.E., M.C., who was born on 26 April, 1892, died on 7 December, 1962. Educated at Stoke-on-Trent High School and at Epworth College, Rhyl, He received his practical training in 1909-12 under Mr A. Burton, M.I.C.E.
From 1913 to 1924, with the exception of the war years, he was Senior Engineering Assistant to the City Engineer, Coventry
In World War I, as Major in command of a Field Company of Royal Engineers, He served for 2+ years in France, being awarded the Military Cross,
In 1924-29, as Deputy Borough Engineer with Darlington Corporation, He performed administrative and executive duties, and in 1929 transferred to similar work with the Croydon Corporation...
