A wedding of: interest to Wellington friends was that solemnised at the residence of the bride, Wanganui, last week, between Alexia Anderson, youngest daughter of Mrs. A. Murchie, of Wanganui, and Sydney William, only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Rankin, of Wellington. Rev. Hugh Beggs officiated.
The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. D. Murchie, wore a frock of ivory morocain with panels of georgette and lace flouncing. Her embroidered veil was arranged mob-cap style, and she carried a sheaf of white flowers.
Miss Kitty Rankin, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honour, and wore a flounced frock of gold georgette with a large crinoline hat en'suite: she also carried a bouquet to tone. Misses Patricia, Peggy, and Barbara Campbell, the small nieces of the bride, were flower girls, and were dressed in lavender georgette, with large tulle bows and posies.;
Mr. Jack Broad, of Masterton, was best man, while Mr. Roy Roberts was groomsman. The house had been beautifully decorated in sweet peas and roses; and after the ceremony the bidal party stood under a marriage-bell to receive the congratulations of their guests: Mrs. Murchie wore a frock of pale grey and rose crepe de chine, with a large crinoline straw hat to tone. Mrs. Rankin wore a black and white figured /crepe de chine and a small black hat.
Later Mr. and Mrs. Rankin left for the honeymoon, which is to be spent at the Southern Lakes, the bride travelling in an ensemble suit of cinnamon crepe - de chine and cloth, with a large crinoline hat of rose. Mrs. F. Campbell, Wellington, sister of the bride, wore a frock of cedar marocain with hat to tone, while Mrs. D. Murchie wore heliotrope crepe de chine with a grey hat.
