MURCHISON NOTES. (Own Correspondent.) Murchison, July 24. The marriage of Miss Bertha Goodyer and Mr W. Hunt of Motueka, took place at St Paul's Church, Murchison, on Wednesdy last. A large number of friends assembled, and the church was quite filled with interested spectators. The Rev T. Taylor being an old friend of the bridegroom, officiated, and Miss Ivy and Miss Agnes Goodyer, sisters of the bride, acted as bridesmaids, The dress worn by the bride was of pale blue, with a white hat and black ostrich feathers. Mr Hunt, who is a very popular young fellow, was for some time blacksmith working for the late Messrs Robert Liddicoat. and Bredbury, when they had the business in Murchieon. Mr McMahon, from the Padtnnr district, filled the post of best man. The presents were numerous and sensible. The wedding breakfast was laid out at Mr Goodyers house, and only a few of the nearest relatives assembled. The happy pair drove off for their home in Tapawera, where Mr Hunt has set up in business. |
