3rd May 1862 Auckland, Northern division Duncan Campbell is still on voters list, however this just means he owned property in Auckland.
From a letter by Duncans daughter Maria we are told that Duncan and James had moved to Gariels Gully, Lawrence, Otago to follow the Gold Rush september 1861. however James was present at the birth of his dau Sarah in jan 1862.
Also the death of Duncan's daughter Sarah 20jan1862 shows that Duncan's family didnt accompany him when he departed for the gold fields in septemer1861.

Although James was apparently present at his daughters birth Jan 1862, he has registered rights in 1861 and listed with miner's rights in April 1862.
