Sailed from Wellington November 1917 for Suez.
Service in Wellington Mounted Rifles in Middle East. Left Suez March 1919.
Arrived home on SS Kaikoura 19 April 1919.
He caught malaria in the Middle East, was sick on and off, and was eventually discharged as unfit due to illness contracted while serving.
