Letter recieved 22nd March 1917 from NE London
Mrs I.. P. Campbell, The Springs,
Waitapu, Nelson, New Zealand.

Dear mum, I am out on a four days leave, was out at Walton on Thames this afternoon to see charlie but just missed him, he had gone out for a walk just before I got there & he had not got back when I had to go to catch the rain, but I'm going out again to see him. By what his mates say he is doing pretty well, so there is no cause to worry about him a least for the present. In all probability it will be a good many weeks before he gets back to France for he will have to go to Codford Camp for some weeks & then on to Sling where he will have to put in another few weeks.
Best wishes to all at home.
Your loving son.
