NZBMD indicates marriage as 1840 although registered 5 Feb 1841,
if this was a marriage at sea then registering this would be the captains
responsibility on arrival, however formal goverment registration didnt start till 1848.
The Presbyterian Church began in 1840 with the arrival of Rev. J
The first services in Auckland were held in 1842, and the first church in Wellington was officially opened in 1844.
At first this may appear not to be our Mary Cameron, however examination of the
passenger list reveals:-
Firstly there was no "HUGH" Cameron father of a Mary,
Secondly, there is only one Tailor listed and that is EWEN Cameron,
Thirdly Ewen's family are the only Camerons from Ardgour.
