The Blenhiem passenger list in 1840 gives Maria as aged 46,
giving a birth circa 1794.

Mary Colquhoun born 12 sept 1894 at Fernlochan, Ardchattan
daughter of Angus Colqhoun and Mary Cunningham.
Note:Fernlochan is a small hamlet on the S.E. shore of Loch Creran,
in the parish of Ardchattan some 9 miles north of Oba
Mary Colquhoun married 28th February 1811 Kilmalie to Ewen Cameron at Iverscaddle
Was the marriage in the brides home?
More likely it was at the small chapel at Conaglen House (Inverscaddle Bay)
part of Conaglen Estate, and that Mary and/or Ewen worked on the Connaglen Estate,
which encompassed a rectangle of land including the southern shore of Loch Eil,
to its head, and the western shore of Loch Linnhe, north of Inverscaddle,
and including Trislaig where Ewen was living in 1840.
Conaglen and Trislaig were in Kilmallie Parish, until 1831,
when the Quoad Sacra Parish of Ballachulish & Corran of Ardgour was formed.
So the change of parishes may not mean the family moved from Trislaig.

Ewen's death in 1848 records his death as 65, giving birth as about 1783,
however the ships manifest , 1n 1840, gave Ewen as aged 50, and brother Donald 52
ie- born 1790 and 1788. Its possible as there was supposed to be an age limit of 50 for
immigrants so their ages may have been altered
Also the IGI suggests they were older.

Mary/Maria's death cert , Blue ridge Otago NZ, in 1873 gave her age as 85
ie born 1788, which would make her 48 in 1836 when her last child Catherine was born
and 23 when she married.however given that she could not read so her age may well be inacurate.
